My husband took us (baby Dilan, Sunny the corgi and myself) on a little road trip from the east bay area down the California coastline, on our way to Long Beach to visit family. It was definitely the long way to get to Southern Cali, but the magestic views made up for it and were simply breathtaking. We caught a little bit of rain near Pebble Beach (a northern part of California still), however that didn’t take away from the wonderful scenery. Even our corgi enjoyed all the different beach stops we made along the coast. It was also nice to learn about new little towns that we hadn’t heard of or experienced before. 🙂
While in Monterey…
A place that sold all the possible fused olive oils you can think of…
Baby Dilan enjoying the hotel bed (that we got a free night stay at, from Marriott points from our wedding reception).
We drove down the popular 17-mile drive (photos don’t do it justice)…
And stopped by the cute town of Carmel which is an extremely dog-friendly town by the way.
Ran into the Bixby bridge…
We even stumbled upon some lounging seals.
We couldn’t go inside of Hearst Castle since Sunny our corgi was with us, and they don’t allow dogs.
We stopped by the town of Solvang and there we found Mission Santa Ines (my 4th grade mission project–brought back memories!).
Solvang’s recognizable windmills are found all over town.
While in Santa Barbara we had breakfast at Sambos, which I totally recommend!
Lots of cool places to look at while in State Street in Santa Barbara.
We came across some surfers while approaching Malibu.
Lastly, (no photo shown) but of course, we landed in Long Beach (my hometown)!
All photos taken by me and my husband.
